“Girih” or “gireh” is a Persian word meaning knot. Dating back to the 2nd century, this kind of decoration was adopted from Syrian Roman knot-work. A common design feature in Islamic architecture; this kind of pattern can be seen in palaces, mosques and mausoleums alike.
Each of our rugs are 100% cotton, and handwoven on a loom. Artisans in Rajasthan work on one rug or dhurrie for 15-25 days from start to finish. Part of the proceeds from the sale of these rugs goes directly to our artisans.
These runners can be used for your corridors or the sides of your bed. They’re also meant to be used in place of/as yoga mats.
